2nd Team Match Report - Home vs Bounty 3rds 09/12/2021

The almost full strength 2nd team took on Bounty 3rds at home. Final result:

#1 Charles 2-3; #2 Olu 1-3; #3 Ballsy 3-1; James #4 1-3; #5 Rob 1-3

First up was Charles (Barracuda) and Rob. I marked Barracuda’s match, which was a good one, with some good rallies and running. As usual, Charles lived up to his name, and fought back well to get to 2-2, but just couldn’t quite close it out.

Rob once again snatched defeat away from the jaws of victory - starting well, and winning the 1st game, but quite possibly running out of steam, or thinking too much about the curry to keep it up.

Ballsy and Olu were next. I managed to watch both matches, Ballsy in particular did well against an intense opponent, and hung in for an excellent and only win of the day. Olu started well, and it was closer than the scores suggest, and made a great effort.

James M (me) was last, and lost the support of most of the crowd to curry. My opponent was too tricky on the day, going down in 4.

Thanks to our “cheerleaders” Phill and Richard P for their support, even in a loss. And thanks to all our players for getting a covid test on the day, as is now required by Berkshire squash.

As usual, the curry was delish and we got told off for getting in too late.
